As I learn more about food, the more I am slowly changing the way I eat. It's changed my family, too. I never in a million years thought I'd be cooking this much from scratch, using greens like bok choy and kale and brown rice syrup. Until this past year or so, I had never even heard of these ingredients, let alone know what to do with them in the kitchen. And I never thought I'd be one of "those people" who frowned upon processed foods so much. Heck, I grew up on that stuff!
Recently, I've been reading up on the glycemic index -- a way to measure how fast a food breaks down into glucose and enters our bloodstream. Because I'd like to spread the knowledge around regarding healthy food choices and concepts, I will be posting an article on the glycemic index soon under the Healthy Eating Resources page at the top. This should also be followed by an article outlining natural sweeteners -- something else I've been learning about as well.
So hang in there recipe seekers... nothing quite new today. Life has gotten the better of me lately and my energy for trying and tweaking new recipes has been zapped out of me. (Although I did make an AWESOME chicken stir fry the other night that I will definitely post on here soon.)
Happy Eating!!
